The first Griffon Vulture of the Balearics is born

The happy occasion has finally happened!

On the 20th of April members of the Black Vulture Foundation managed to observe the first Griffon Vulture (G.fulvus) chick to be born in the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains, Mallorca.

Since its accidental arrival to the island a little over three years ago, this species has adapted and spread to different areas of the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains.

Now the development and the interaction with the Black Vulture (A.monachus) will have to be monitored closely.

Congratulations!
